Ferrari Enzo - half off

Oh, you thought it
was a sale, did you? Not so much, unless you don't mind picking up the engine from the middle of the road and the
burned out fuselage hundreds of yards down. I'm sure you could get a deal.
This Ferrari Enzo was the
cause of a Pacific Coast Highway shutdown this morning after the driver lost control of the $1 million vehicle going
oh-so-fast and hit a power pole. The driver took off up the mountains and hasn't been found even after a 3 hour
helicopter search, making our pals over at Luxist wonder if it is a case of a celebrity
trying to stay out of the limelight. The passenger suffered a cut lip, but besides that, the only casualties were
the car and the driver's ego.

bummer...though I would love to have witnessed that, it must have been pretty spectacular.
PCH makes for a nice cruise, but it's also terrible. The lines have been painted and repainted so many times and with so many construction/slide/etc lane detours that you can hardly tell where lanes go anymore.

How could the driver be a mystery? Only a handful of these cars exist, and they have plates and serial numbers just like everything else around.
Taylor York @ Feb 21st 2006 4:54PM
Can't they just check the VIN and see who's car this is? I would assume that if the driver was the owner, he is just stupid, or that the car was stolen.

Not the first wreck like this..

Anyone ask the passenger?
Miguel @ Feb 21st 2006 5:14PM
From what i've read, the passenger is the owner. Also, they noticed that only one of the airbags had blood on it and that the passenger had a cut lip. That airbag was in the driver's side. And yes, they should ask him who the driver was...

It was probabally Kevin Federline.
Gunnar @ Feb 21st 2006 5:42PM
According to some of the articles that are floating around, the vehicle was registered out of country.
I wish I could go punch him in the face for wrecking something so beautiful.

I understand a well-known politician was quail hunting in the vicinity at the time.

Great advertisement for Ferrari crash safety. Maybe they're only ego safe at rest and at idle speed.

B, one can only hope.

The cops probably know who was driving it, but just aren't releasing it, for now.

Apparently it was racing some Merc and crashed doing 125+
Corey Baines @ Feb 21st 2006 7:30PM
The owner is Stefan Erickson, from the company called Gizmondo, ill-fated portable gaming company.

i guess he lost his nerve -- on deadman's curve (that's no place to play)

My favorite quote from some lame on-the-scene reporter:
"That's a, uh, 16 valve, V8, huge engine . . it must weigh, gosh, 1500 lbs."
Wow. What a moron.
Ford Mustang @ Feb 21st 2006 9:16PM
Go back to that link and click on the link to watch the video. They stated that the driver supposedly fled, while the passenger stayed behind. There was a cop on there that said they believe that the passenger was actually the driver because both air bags deployed and only the drivers side had blood on it. The passenger had blood on his lip, and he is also the owner.

Mike, since you use the word "faggy," you've displayed how much your opinion is worth. If you guess zilch, you're right.
blake Mayerle @ Feb 21st 2006 11:28PM
Hell, I will take the engine!!!

I got a ticket for going 55 on PCH last week. The Malibu police officer said they were on a "zero tolerance alert" for speeding offenders. Meanwhile I bet they will let this liar walk. Owner = Driver = liar.
A couple weeks before Britney drove with her baby on her lap along PCH. Did the Malibu police do anything then or now? These guys must be getting paid off.
I am glad to see that Enzo destroyed. You should see the other losers around Malibu who can't drive their high performance machines.
